DJ Olive is a disc jockey, turntablist, and a key figure in New York’s illbient movement. As a member of the collective We™, he helped shape a unique blend of ambient, dub, and abstract sounds. He co-founded Multipolyomni and Lalalandia Entertainment Research Corporation, which created some of the most memorable Brooklyn warehouse after hours environments of the 90’s. He has started two record labels: Phonomena Audio Arts & Multiples and The Agriculture, and has released on labels such as Room40, Sub Rosa, and Oxingale Records. Over the years, he has collaborated with artists across jazz, electronic, and avant-garde scenes, exploring the boundaries between electronic music and sound art.
